Below was posted on FB by Ken Wilson (https://kenwilsonelt.wordpress.com/) today:

-----------

(I don't usually advertise ELT jobs, but today I'm going to make an exception. There are vacancies for teachers in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, with the New Generation group of schools. I was lucky enough to give a talk to NG teachers in April another Kazakh city, Pavlodar, and I was really impressed by the teachers, the owners and the support staff. Anyway, here are the details:

EFL Teacher
Astana, Kazakhstan
Start date: September 1st 2015

New Generation International Educational Center is looking for EFL professionals to work in Astana, the amazing capital city of Kazakhstan. An excellent local remuneration package is offered to the right candidate, who must have CELTA or equivalent and be committed to delivering high quality lessons and focused on self-development.

School Description:
New Generation International Educational Center has been providing first-class language tuition in Kazakhstan since 2000. The company has three main divisions: language schools, bookselling and the Studies Abroad department. There are three schools, two in Pavlodar and one in Astana.

Location:
Astana became the capital of Kazakhstan in 1997. Its modern architecture is striking in its scale and futuristic design, especially in contrast to the vast steppes that surround it.

Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate for an EFL teacher position
• has a recognized EFL qualification (TEFL/TESOL/ CELTA/DELTA)
• has a university degree
• is outgoing, enthusiastic, positive, sociable, hard-working and looking for a challenge.

Moreover, experience in teaching YL and Exam Preparation (IELTS and TOEFL) is highly preferable. A Business English qualification will be an advantage, along with an IELTS Examiner qualification.

Applications from people who do not meet all of the above criteria will be considered, although only successful applicants will be contacted. We welcome applications from native and non-native speaker teachers of English.

Salary and benefits:
- Monthly salary: from KZT 220,000 (net) depending on qualifications and experience. About USD1,200 per month.

In addition, we offer the following remuneration package:
- Visa support: the school will help with and cover the cost of a multiple one-year visa;
- Economy return air fare to Astana
- Airport transfer on arrival and departure
- Free accommodation
- Free access to email and internet facilities
- 24-hour hotline emergency assistance.

Support:
Teachers will always have a senior member of staff with whom they can discuss any aspects of their work. Also, our school will help teachers settle smoothly into living in Kazakhstan and provide ongoing assistance on all matters that may otherwise prove difficult with the language barrier.

PLEASE SEND RELEVANT CV TO:

Hello CELTA grads,

If you're NOT coming to the mini-conference at Teaching House Boston this Saturday (why in the world not?!?! ;) there IS still a nice ELT-event you could 'attend' online at 3pm on Saturday. Just FYI, see details below:

Jamie Keddie - 'Storytelling in the classroom'

It is often teachers of young learners who are the quickest to embrace teacher-led storytelling as a way of engaging students and structuring sessions. But we are considering a classroom art which is far too valuable and versatile to be associated exclusively with one group alone. In this practical webinar, we will look at ways in which a short narrative can be used to generate a whole-class dialogue with language learning opportunities along the way.

Jamie Keddie is a teacher, trainer, writer and storyteller. He is the founder of Lessonstream.org and the winner of a British Council ELTons award. His publications include 'Images' (OUP, 2009) and 'Bringing Online Video into the Classroom' (OUP, 2014). He is also the author of Videotelling, a self-published ebook

You can enter the webinar at this link: http://www.iatefl.org/web-events/webinars (find 'Join this webinar here')

Jamie Keddie is awesome, so don't miss it! ;)
