Teacher Resources for Middle School in Germany

I recently took over an eighth grade class (advanced level) until the remainder of the school year at a public school in Hamburg, Germany.

I am having a difficult time finding teacher resources online for this age level. It seems nearly everything is for either teaching English to adults or younger kids.

Does anybody know of any good online resources for the middle school/high school grade levels?

Also, I would like to begin reading a novel with them, but I am unsure which novel. Can anybody recommend some novels that would be appropriate for eighth grade English learners? As I said earlier, they are advanced.
