Bringing the World Closer

Does anyone have much experience using authentic audio in your classroom? What materials have you used? Where did you get the materials?

I came across a great podcast on the Pearson Longman ELT site regarding the importance of using authentic listening materials. You can listen to it here. (Unfortunately, the download option isn't working, but you can listen to it directly on the site. Search for "Using Authentic Audio".)

I've found many great audio clips from Voice of America (www.voanews.com) and the Many Things (www.manythings.org) websites.
I just discovered this great collection of mini-talks by Harvard faculty members. They're all about 10 minutes in length. They may be great for academic English classes. If you use them in your class, be sure to let us know how it went!
