Expectations: So one of the main ones I usually put on here is that they are active and participate in class, but in this example, it is lumped into "try your best."

Notice that students sign this. I tell them to sign it only if they can agree to do these things (if they cannot, either we have to discuss, or they can't be in my class.. but that has never happened)...This way, I can use their agreement signature if they do not do these things - it takes the disciplinary role off of me a bit.
