Hi everyone! Hope you're doing well...any updates for us here in Boston?
I've produced a short survey for CELTA people & ELTers about Task Feedback in lessons: http://goo.gl/forms/fqElr5qStP If you can, please take a few minutes to respond and help inform small presentation at our upcoming mini-conference in Boston! (http://on.fb.me/1FVKR5Y)
Cheers!
Matthew

^ if you have the time and inclination, recommended! (Even if you don't, really...sign up! Give it a go as far as you can...)
Yay Stefan!! Woooo! That's brilliant news! How are the colleagues? The students? The weather? The wine?
How is everybody else getting on? Nina, are you in Indonesia yet? Let's have an update on everybody!
Ok, I'll start....
Things on my end aren't looking promising. Seems nobody sponsors visas here. Stephanie told me it's because a company has to pay $5000 to even put forward a sponsorship for a UK national and then it doesn't guarantee that it'll be accepted. So yeah, I won't find a job here. I'm still trying to decide what to do.
How was everybody's Thanksgiving? I miss you all!
Hi Matthew! And the rest of the gang.
I made it to Italy. It was a battle against all odds for my EU Blue Card and grabbing a last minute visa without an appointment from the Italian Consulate in Boston. But I am here. I am teaching gradually and will go full time in January. Tomorrow I have my first one on one with an advanced student!
It is a beautiful city. Find me on Facebook under Stefan Piscitelli, on Instagram under @arcncl, and at www.PlanetStefan.com (end shameless self promotion). I hope everyone is doing well! Happy Whatever-You-Celebrate-This-Time-of-Year!
Stefan, any luck?
Just wanted to pass this on (for all):
An email from a former TH trainee:
Dan -- your trainee from last year......hope you're doing well.
Wanted to let you know that my school in Costa Rica is actively hiring for next semester (http://www.inglesintercultura.com/)

Not ELT, but may be of interest to locals/friends...
Hi Welcome Project friends,
Can you help me get the word out to potential candidates who may be interested in this very important part-time position at The Welcome Project. The Youth Program Coordinator oversees our youth interpreter training and leadership program (LIPS -- the Liaison Interpreters Program of Somerville) as well as other efforts to help young people achieve their aspirations. Priority will be given to candidates with bicultural/bilingual experience who also have skills working on leadership development with youth. The position is 25 hours per week with benefits.
I've attached a PDF of the job description.
The job description is also available at the Welcome Project's website:
http://www.welcomeproject.org/content/get-involved-welcome-project.
Your assistance in helping us find excellent candidates is much appreciated. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

The UI group were discussing idioms today...Here's a good resource with categorized idioms and good, clear, basic learner's definitions (probably better than the thing we printed out today in a rush, eh Stefan!)..it's on a great ELT website too: https://www.englishclub.com/ref/Idioms/
Just a reminder: please give Maelle your list of trainee names for attendance certificates as early as possible tomorrow so she's not rushed to produce the certs at the last minute (during her lunch, likely). Thanks!
Here are the video clips we saw some of in the YL Input Session this morning (and a much, much better Jazz Chant one - check that out):
