Looks like we're waiting on Sean and Ksenia to join this group. If you guys get a chance, show them the ropes so we're all together on here.

First, congrats on your TP1s! You've now officially started your training experience. You are TEACHERS in training. :)

I mentioned providing access to PDFS of two books here:

The first is 'Learner English', which has a chapter for each L1 and is full of insights and ideas about typical pronunciation & grammar errors (not all errors are caused by L1 interference and/or transfer, but many are!). This will be your key resource for your FOL assignment. There are also two copies on the shelf you can read here/copy from.

Find that here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6s45WWdJGrceUlGVzBrRmd6Y2M/view?u...

Secondly, there is 'Teaching Learning' by Jim Scrivener. This is an all-around methodology book for teachers, and you'll notice on your orange input session schedule, under the title of each session, "LT 185-197". That would be related reading in Learning Teaching (LT) connected to that input session generally (not always exactly).

Those page numbers correspond to the newest edition of Learning Teaching. The link below is to a much older edition. I'll try to get an update up, but this edition is nice, too. In some ways, better (more illustrations, and it's shorter/more concise). We have several copies of LT on our shelves.

This can be a primary source for your SRT assignment (where you select an authentic reading text and design some reading tasks for it, etc.) as well as being generally helpful.

That's here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6s45WWdJGrcTV9tVWw4UDUxXzQ/view?u...

Cheers

(More resources will go up here as we continue on...)

Hi everyone,

I'm Matthew, one of your CELTA course tutors.

Welcome to our C14 Boston CELTA course group page. Use this wall to send out messages to the group, post online resources you've found, and get messages from me. All posts to this wall should be (unless your settings are off) automatically sent out via email as well.

From this page (above) you can also access your COURSE FORMS, some resources (videos, etc.), and the TH Jobs Listings site, among other things.

Looking forward to starting up the course!
