Here's a thorough accounting for ALL the slides, materials, and links presented in the "Using Internet, Songs, and Video" meta-input webinar today, especially for Tom :) who asked about/for one: http://bit.ly/1CwtWaz

Have we begun a meme-war? My counter attack! --

Couldn't resist after seeing Matt's meme.
See you all tomorrow travel safely and wear appropriate footwear. If no TP students turn up, Steph and I will impersonate "typical" students for you : )

I've just "set up" the "classroom" for this afternoon's webinar. I'm now ready to don my hat and mittens and go climb a snowbank! Just thought I'd post a peek into the place I hope at least some can meet up at 3:30pm. Remember - you'll need to sign up and sign in to WizIQ first so give that some time before 3:30 if you can.

If you can't make it, don't worry...it won't count against you. If the (new, not stuck in another state) course assessor doesn't understand, we'll all just throw snowballs at her until she...gets it. ;)

How to get to the webinar:

It will take place on WizIQ.com at 3:30pm today. What's WizIQ?

"WizIQ is a platform for anyone and everyone who wants to teach or learn live, online. With a virtual classroom, educational content and a session scheduler, WizIQ works best for anyone’s online teaching and learning needs. Try it out, it’s all free!"

More general info about WizIQ here: https://www.wiziq.com/Faq.aspx

So...the link below is the 'invitation' to today's webinar specifically. Click it and you'll be brought to WizIQ and will need to sign up. You can do this in two ways: 1) with/through Facebook, like many sites these days or 2) without Facebook, just entering an email, etc. Which you choose is up to you, of course. (see pic below)

***One note about the sign up process: it's quite easy and simple, just remember this one note: don't enter a phone number. Just click through any prompt for a phone number and you're golden. If you do put a phone number in, WizIQ folks will give you a friendly call at some point, a marketing thing. Which is really old-school, isn't it? And kind of silly thing for a website to do...in 2015! Just a heads up - no number entered, no worries! ;P

OK, once you're in you should see my class on your list already. If not, come back here and re-click the invitation link. That should do it! :)

Invitation to "Using Tech, Net, & Multi-Media (Songs & Music) in the Classroom" (in a blizzard) w/ Matthew at 3:30pm today:

STAY CALM AND SHOVEL ON

(I use http://memegenerator.net/ for classes esp. w/ internet savvy students..)

Thanks Petrina! We've got three responses so far. You can view the results at the link below. It's a bit of a clunky spreadsheet file, but if you click on a response, you can see the whole thing displayed at the top.

***I should have included a question about how you've used 'net and tech in your TP classes too, not just previous teaching. Feel free to include that.

Responses: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1I4nfOBLAA-dQvvco484He8FFHVU...

Some quotes:

How have you used tech in the past?
"I used youtube videos for kindergarteners and assigned/recommended use of Duolingo.com for adults. Attempted online games for use with second grade, and used powerpoint presentations all around. (Rachel)"

What are some advantages of using net and tech?
"Students already use it and are familiar with it, plus they will realise that they can learn on the go and will appreciate that (Petrina)"
"It's usually accessible outside of the class whenever the students need them." (Anon)

:)
