Thank you too Matthew, gratitude lei from me :) lol
Thanks
Thanks David.
While I'm here, why not share a few more extra more things:
A book PDF you might find to be a decent reference..it's called 'Teaching Practice' after all! ;) Here: http://bit.ly/1I0koH5
A video of Adrian Underhill, creator of the teacher's IPA chart, holding forth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kAPHyHd7Lo
I think I must have shared this already below, but it's so good it calls to be shared twice..Jo Gokonga's CELTA support videos. Including assignments! Of course Jo's not on OUR course but pretty much everything she talks about applies across all CELTAs. Videos here: http://elttraining.mdl2.com/course/view.php?id=11
Cheers, see y'all tomorrow.
Hey Matthew. I just wanted to thank you for being so active and for posting so much useful stuff in this group! I really appreciate it.
Just spreading the word about an upcoming webinar series for teachers I'm involved in (my session is on 8/8). Gonna be great! Easy sign up, easy to participate, and easy access to all recordings later if you can't make sessions.
Check it out: http://itdi.pro/itdihome/summer2015.php
:)
**Of course YOU GUYS (Course C7) will still be full throttle on your course, so if you DO sign up, do so to check out recordings later!**
Here's a IPA transcription tool that can help with LA sheets, etc.:
http://www.photransedit.com/Online/Text2Phonetics.aspx
Don't forget to click 'GA' for General American, also unclick any things like 'syllabic consonants' at the bottom. Then bob's your uncle.
When you use a tool like this, it's not to AVOID your own necessary work in describing the P of what you're teaching accurately - you very much still need to check that it does what you want it to do. It can simply help, especially if you are typing out the LA sheet! :)
Also, if you have a smart phone I recommend downloading at least the FREE version of this app to help continue increasing your familiarity with the IPA chart designed by teachers, for teachers: http://www.macmillaneducationapps.com/soundspron/
Some would even say it's fun! ;)
The slides from Friday's 'Learning & Teaching/FOL set up' powerpoints...
Desiree,
The LA sheet for vocabulary is at the end of the Lesson Plan file.

Where do I find the LA sheet for vocab? I have the .pdf from the handbook but can't find the .docx in Course Forms.
