Great job Jan! Explaining that is going to be another challenge all together.
If you are talking about " was captured by", I believe it is the passive voice. 385 - 387 in the Swan book.
Let me know what you think. Just in case you want to call, 614-216-0762.

Thanks for the videos Matthew. The first one is great so far.
Hey, did you guys figure out what the tense was for Grammar 1 on the LRT? It was a difficult one.
The other day I mentioned online video of the creator of the particular IPA chart that we learn to use as teachers on the CELTA course. He's Adrian Underhill and the link below is a one-hour video of him conducting a seminar introducing the chart and how it works, what it's all about. It's pretty neat.
Whether you just skim around it a bit now or leave it for checking out after the course, here's the link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kAPHyHd7Lo
And a bonus link of a similar presentation:
Jan - the site I showed you for IPA transcription (it's not the only one, but a good one) is photransedit.com
PS - With such a small group we DO have a certain degree of flexibility in terms of making up missed TP classes etc. so again...we're not trying to force anyone to brave floods and dangerous storm conditions for the CELTA course. We need everyone alive and well to award certificates to! ;)
I just called BEI to confirm - they are open as usual today, and Julie and I will be heading in momentarily.
Please use your best judgement as to when and if you can come in! We will do everything necessarily to ensure the course works for you AROUND any severe weather affecting your attendance.
Good morning everyone...
Please be safe this morning and if there are dangerous conditions for you please, please don't risk life and limb (or even any danger) to get to the center on time (or at all)!
I should have added 'SAFETY FIRST' to my description of a 'very high threshold' to cancel any CELTA activities in my last announcement. That was a bit inappropriate in light of what we're seeing in places around here! Sounded a bit blustery and really didn't mean to!
In light of what we've seen not far from here, we all absolutely need to be on high alert for severe weather dangers.
Please keep in touch with any info about your situation when and if weather affects your schedule and STAY SAFE!
Matthew
Matthew, Can you please put up the link to that phonemic website you shared in class on Tues.
Thanks, Jan
