Here's a link to a downloadable PDF of 'Learner English' - the book we have at the center with chapters about the English language issues typical of learners from different first language backgrounds:
I actually meant to post that earlier, my apologies. :)

For future reference, The course materials state that class is closed if public transportation is down. It's down. Public officials are saying to stay off the roads. I'm glad the roads around the school are ok, but we don't all live within walking distance of the school. I started trying to make contact around 7:00 and didn't hear back from anyone till after 8:00. I understand the course is tight, but you should be consistent with the rules stated in the literature.
If flooding or anything else DOES get in the way of coming in, you can call me at 617-417-7253. Leave a message if I don't pick up.
For future reference, the CELTA is a course that has very, very, very little room for days off and so we have a VERY high threshold for doing so. If there is flooding where you are, you can absolutely miss an input session and make up the work (there's a place to record this in your CELTA 5) but the CELTA train needs to keep rolling on down the track. The most important thing, of course, is not to miss a Teaching Practice session.
**BEI is open and the CELTA is on today**
I haven't heard anything Jan. I assume we are still having class. The area around the school looks clear.
I am trying to find out if we are having class today, because of the flooding. So, what's going on. If class is cancelled, can we come in later to work on assignments? Will you and/or Julie be there if we have questions?
