I am an experienced Certified ESL Teacher of Native English to Speakers of Other languages. I have over (5) years total experience with ESL teaching for speakers of português (Brazilian), Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese), and Korean at all ages and level of fluency. I studied português and business marketing while studying abroad at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, RS, Brasil(UFRGS). I am an alumnus of the College of Charleston, in South Carolina USA with a BA in History, awarded 2009.
Certificates: [300+ credit hours (TESOL/TEFL)] and a combined (5+ years total experience) of in-class and online ESL teaching experience abroad, since 2008. I completed the CELTA as an audit. [TESOL/CELTAaudit 2018 (120 credit hours) Certificate of Completion], awarded by the director of Teaching House, Boston. I have the [TEFL Org UK Premier Certificate (120 credit hours)], [TEFL Advanced: Teaching Young Learners Certificate (30 credit hours)], [TEFL Advanced: ESL Advanced: Online Teaching Certificate (40 credit hours)] and the [TEFL Advanced: Business English Certificate (30 credit hours)]. I have worked over (3) years with online ESL interactive VoIP classrooms. I am a proud member of the Georgia Association for Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages [GATESOL exp: 2024].
Awards: I was awarded the South Carolina Palmetto Scholarship to study at the College of Charleston, in 2004 and was awarded a student exchange grant to study in Brazil, in 2007. In college, I served as an archival assistant at the Special Collections Archive under Dr. Dale Rosengarten (Professor of Anthropology). I served as the College of Charleston’s International Department Club Public Relations Officer (Liaison) for (3) consecutive semesters. I aim to consistently increase my knowledge and marketability within this field. Education, music, and art are very important to me and my family. I implement these “soft skills” to build rapport with my students.
