The Sterling Slide Rule has standard A, B, C, C', D, and K scales. The A, D, and K scales are on the body, the B, and C scales on the slide. The cursor travels the full length of the body, and the hairline crosses these scales for direct comparison. On the reverse side of the slide, the S, L, and T scales appear, and the slide may be re- Concise Circular Slide Rule No. 28, 46, 300, 320. A standard manual for circular slide rules, direct from Concise in the Fall, 2002. The basic manual for No. 28, 46, and 320 rules is a simple front-and-back scan like the examples above. There's also an additional front-and-back scan of a separate sheet for the trig scales on the model 300. The Slide Rule Simplified by Geo.W.Richardson and J.J.Clarke. This 100 page booklet is an essential addition to the library of any owner of Richardson slide rules. This is the Sixth Edition and it is made quite clear in this booklet that at the time of its publication Richardson rules were made by Gilson. This is Volume 1 of the 24+ intended volumes (14 currently available), most specifically about each major manufacturer of slide rules. Set the slide so that the left index of the C scale is over 187 on the D scale. This monograph is a compilation of Oughtred Society Journal articles and new articles describing the progression from pencil slide rules through calculator pens to pentop computers. Two short articles about calculator pens have been added. WebMy rule of thumb: Inductive reactance (X L) should be in the 88 ohm- 200 ohm range at the lowest frequency of use (X L = 6.28 * F * L where (X L is inductive reactance in ohms, F is frequency in MHz, and L is inductance in microhenrys. This corresponds to 4-9 microhenrys at 3.5MHz or 2-4.5 microhenrys at 7 MHz . Slide Rules: Design, Build, and Archive Presentations in the Engineering and Technical Fields (IEEE PCS Professional Engineering Communication Series series) by Traci Nathans-Kelly.

A complete road map to creating successful technical presentations

Planning a technical presentation can be tricky. student, removed from the book and graded by the instructor. All the problems are simple algebraic or purely numeric in nature; no applied or practical problems are included. The book came with one of the infamous Lawrence Engineering Service 'Deluxe' 10-B wooden slide rules, with its simple A [B, CI, C] D, K, scale set. The rule is of the usual Start by marking "A Complete Slide Rule Manual" as Want to Read: Want to Read. Want to Read. Rate this book. 1 of 5 stars 2 of 5 stars 3 of 5 stars 4 of 5 stars 5 of 5 stars. The final answer is 8.45 x 10 1 = 84.5. 5. Use a similar process on the K scale to find cube roots. The process for finding cube roots is very similar. The most important step is determining which of the three K scales to use
