I teach creative writing and literature; I'm a writer's consultant for individual writers working on full-length projects, etc.; I organize arts-focused trips to Cuba for writers, artists, filmmakers, architects, educators, students, etc.; I have been a central organizer of Cuban films festivals and continue that work; I have taught in universities like NYU, in colleges, in a school for drop-out youth in East Harlem; with working adults, ex-addicts, ex-inmates, professional writers, community health educators, etc.; I have been a visiting writer at numerous colleges and presented at many conferences; I dance salsa, cuban style, as well as other Latin dances; I have worked with students from all over the world.
