I am a passionate educator and an avid learner. Most recently, I was an AmeriCorps National Teaching Fellow with Citizen Schools. I have experience teaching students of all ages in a variety of contexts such as museum education, collaborative and one-on-one tutoring, elementary classrooms, and the extended learning day. I constantly seek to hone my teaching skills to better meet my students' needs.
I studied history at my university because of my deep-seated interest in other cultures. I formally studied Spanish, French, and Arabic, and I informally studied Georgian. I also lived in both Cairo, Egypt and in a village in the Republic of Georgia. I have been to over ten foreign countries, and I think that my ability to adapt to new environments and my open-mindedness help me be successful both in and out of the classroom.
