- Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. Graduated from Indiana University in 2013 majoring in Linguistics and Arabic, minoring in French. Native English speaker able to comfortably speak Arabic (Modern Standard Arabic and Levantine dialect), French and Spanish, and less comfortably speak Hindi. Accustomed to tutoring and teaching English as a second language, particularly to native Arabic speakers. Extensive exposure to Arab Islamic culture. Experienced with adapting to cultural immersion. Studied for 7 weeks in Saint Brieuc, France (summer 2008); 6 weeks in Fez, Morocco (summer 2011); 7 months in Amman, Jordan (summer/fall/winter 2012).
