That's cool that you're volunteering in Costa Rica. I do live in New York (for my sins). I'm from London originally, and lived in Dublin for a decade. You are from Iowa? Have you always lived in the States?
I think I'm going to relax once I get through this course. :o) I'll look for a teaching job I should think. I see from your profile that you don't seem to mind too much where you get work. Are you planning to travel? I never studied grammar at all before this course came along. I knew what a noun, verb, and adjective were, but that was about it. How's your grammar-learning going? I don't know why we can't all learn a language the way babies do... they're not concerned about state verbs and indefinite articles! :o)
Sorry to startle you... no, I don't think we're to complete it before the course starts. Just one of the emails Teaching House sent out recommended to start it. Although, I don't think we have enough information to start it, so don't worry. How are you finding the pre-course task?
Yeah, I feel the same, and agree that it will be intense. Like you, I don't have any formal teaching experience. I'm eager to get started on the first assignment (the skills-related task). Have you looked at it?
