I'm a longtime foreign language teacher (French, Spanish) who became CELTA certified through Teaching House, NY in July '15. Afterwards, I continued on with my usual job as a lower school/middle school teacher in my neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY, although I was hoping to use my certification to begin teaching Chinese exchange students at my institution's upper school (it didn't happen, unfortunately). This summer I decided to take more proactive measures, and am excited to begin a part-time job teaching to the 16+ group at EC English in NYC. I hope this will broaden my experience palette and lead to further future opportunities.
