I volunteer 3-4 months per year in Honduras as a physician and then return to the USA to work locums to afford to go back to Honduras and volunteer at the Clinica La Buena Fe, established in 1957. I also function as the attending physician at the clinic in Honduras as it is a designated international rotation elective site for University of Kansas Medical Students.
Recently Honduras passed a ruling requiring English to be taught in ALL schools. There is poor to no good preparation for this in the teaching pool. It is my hope to make available weekend / evening English classes for interested local teachers (students, villagers, interested others...) to assist in their teaching and use of English.
