Bringing the World Closer

Hey Everyone!!,
Hope the lesson plans and FOL papers are going well. I figured since I am the native I would throw out some ideas for happy hour tomorrow night.... There is a website called outnsd.com that has happy hours all over SD so if anyone else has an idea PLEASE speak up!

I am not sure if people are interested in a quiet place where we can all talk, or a place with entertainment.

For entertainment there is a place called The Shout House. It is very interesting, to say the least. It is a dueling piano bar with $1 beers from 6-7pm. There is also Dave & Busters which is basically an adult Chuck E. Cheese.

For something more quiet we could go to a restaurant/bar like Wine Steal and Proper. It is downtown next to Petco Park (our baseball stadium.) The two places are connected. One is a wine bar and the other specialized in beer. Lastly, there is Altitude. It is a rooftop bar on the top of the Marriott downtown. It has beautiful views of San Diego and delicious food.

Let me know what you think... or if there is any other place that sparks your interest!

I will enjoy wherever we go. It would be nice if it's a place where we can visit with each other without shouting, but not so quiet that it feels like we are someplace that is 'dead'. I also heard that a place called Acapulco in Old Town is pretty good, but I haven't been there. It has a deck with a nice view, but it's pretty cold for that right now!
Thanks for putting some thought into this and giving us some choices!
I agree with Joan - a place to visit without shouting but not 'dead'!
Hi Kirsten,

I am happy with any of those options! For the sake of coming to a consensus, I will cast my vote for a restaurant/bar - one of the ones you mentioned sounds good to me (maybe whichever one lends it self to a better talking environment). I'm in favor of a place w/ variety so people can get their 'relaxing drink of choice' - coffee, wine, beer, water, tea, etc. :)
